论文写作要求:
1. 题目选择
学生须在网院学士论文选题单中选择论文题目,学生的选题不得超出选题单所列选题范围,但可在选题框架内深入和细化题目。选题单请见附录一。

2. 语言要求
英语论文格式学士论文一律使用英文完成,论文摘要用中英文完成。英文须使用正式文体,语言清晰流畅准确,用词恰当,段落分明。避免使用的主观性语言(如使用“I think”、“I believe”之类),避免使用性别歧视性语言(如使用“he”代表整体等)。

3. 长度要求
学士论文长度为4000字(不包括论文摘要、目录、书目和附录)。

4. 格式要求
论文封面、论文摘要(中文)、论文摘要(英文)、目录、书目和附录都必须采用平台上发布的模板。全文以A4纸打印,并在左侧用抽杆文件夹装订(请见第图1)。
1) 字体和字号:大标题采用Arial 12 (小四)号粗体,其他层次标题采用Arial 10 (五号) 号粗体,正文采用Times New Roman 12号字。
2) 1.5 行距:一律1.5行距。
3) 标题序号:各层次标题序号分别为:
a. 第一层:1、2、3、4 …
b. 第二层:1.1、1.2 …;2.1、2.2 …
c. 第三层:1.1.1、1.1.2…;1.2.1, 1.2.2 …
4) 文中序号:文中信息列表采用1)à aà a) à i

5. 结构组成
学士论文须包括以下部分:
1) A standard cover: name of the institution, BA degree paper title, writer’s information, submission date, etc.
2) Acknowledgement (optional)
3) An abstract (in Chinese): a summary of the whole BA degree paper in 500-800 Chinese characters, through which a reader
could have a brief but complete understanding of the BA degree paper by reading the abstract and not reading the rest of the BA degree paper.
4) An abstract (in English): a compact version of the Chinese abstract, using 200 words.
5) /A table of contents: a list of titles for each section and their corresponding page numbers.
6) A body (See 6 for detailed information below)
7) A bibliography: a list of books and articles that have been referred to in the body. (You need to refer to at least 5 sources.)
8) Appendices

6. 内容要求
论文的内容要求强调论点、论据和结论的清晰性、逻辑性和科学性。
The BA degree paper should include the following information (please note that the following headings are not necessarily the headings of your BA degree paper.):
1) Introduction
2) Problem and problem analysis
3) Project objectives and hypothesis
4) Project rationale (literature review)
5) Project design
6) Project implementation and evaluation
7) Project findings and discussion
8) Conclusion

7. 引用要求
It is important to avoid plagiarizing other people’s work in the BA degree paper writing.
1) Quotations
In BA degree paper writing, a small number of direct quotations of other authors’ words in their publications could be used to support the argument. It is a dangerous policy to have quotations lightly held together by argument. The reverse pattern is far safer: a solid argument, carefully supported, where necessary, by apt quotations.
The following are some rules for using quotations:
a. A quotation should only be used when it contributes more by direct quotation than by rewriting.
b. Quotations must be accurate.
c. The sources must be indicated in such a way that the reader can find the quotation in its original context without any difficulty. Page numbers must be included in the reference.
d. Punctuation should clearly show where quotations begin and end.

2) Paraphrases
It is acceptable to rewrite in one’s own words (paraphrase) points or arguments that have been taken from other people’s published work. When doing so, credit must be given by referring to the source of information. However, in writing any section of the BA degree paper, one should present one’s own ideas combined with points or ideas derived from a number of different authors. One should not write up any particular section of the BA degree paper by borrowing information from a single source. In other words, using one’s own words to rewrite the work of another writer and submit it as one’s own work would be unacceptable.

3) Plagiarism (unacknowledged references)
Copying (word for word) of another author’s original text into the BA degree paper, without giving quotation marks, will be severely punished (if found). Copying one complete sentence from another author’s work without quotation marks is NOT acceptable, even if one has indicated credit using a reference given at the end of the sentence.
Rewriting other authors’ ideas without giving credit is also unacceptable, and will be penalized if such plagiarism is found in the BA degree paper.

8. 书目书写要求 (Bibliography)
To prevent the loss of reference information, it is good practice to compile a bibliography with full details as soon as one starts to find books or articles on a topic. It may seem unnecessary to have such /complete references; however, one may find that later, when wanting to refer to a particular book or article, that a lack of information makes it impossible or time-consuming. If one keeps an accurate record of references from the beginning, it will be an easy task to include references in the body of the BA degree paper and to write up the bibliography. Bibliographical entries should follow a strict format as stated in rules for references in Appendix XIII.
